Artist's Comments

The Ritual Claws of Pleasure are the result of an intense thesis. These metal pieces were created to support a research based on Ritual practices of Aboriginal Cultures of the world and its connection to the contemporary fetish movement.
The claws are forged and soldered. They are made of copper and brass with details made of real animal bones. The gloves were hand sewn in leather with datail made of brass wire. They are functional (meaning they can be worn and used ... but i will leave the use of them to your imagination) ... HAVE FUN!

Well fuck me.... those are the coolest looking things I have seen in a long time. That is exactly the sort of wild stuff I wanted to try in my metals course this semester but never got the chance (aside from my w.i.p. samurai mask). Bravo. I'm envious. ;) It's like something out of my nightmares and I love it. :D

Just something that comes to mind as far as critique. Those gloves may have looked even better if you had found some type of animal bone that was more of a flat shape but still gave the same sense of style. Everything else about those gloves speaks of something sleek and sexy yet terribly lethal, but the bones stand out, sort of like bits of popcorn lol. Just a thought. Out of curiousity, what animal did they come from? I used to be facinated with the how the skeletons of different animals looked when I was younger (yeah I was an "interesting" kid lol).
